Nursing Assistant (Switzerland)
Nursing assistant is a training offered by the Swiss Red Cross . It includes 120 hours of theory lessons followed by 12 days of internship. The duration and the content can be longer depending on the cantonal section of the SRC.
education
The courses cost around CHF 2,000 (approx. € 1,300), and the content of the course includes patient care, storage, feeding, leading to the toilet, communication and terminal care.
The training is completed with the receipt of the SRK ID. Nursing assistants can mainly be found in old people's homes .
In addition to the professional entry into the care sector, the training can also be used to prepare for the care and support of relatives.

The requirements for the training include:
- Minimum age 16 or 18 years (depending on the section)
- Oral and written German (→ language test)
- Understand the Swiss dialect
- Attend the information event
Further qualification
Nursing assistants with an SRK ID card can obtain further qualifications from the SRK.
As a long-term goal, nursing assistants can also consider the qualification process to become a health specialist .
