Care management

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nursing management describes a managerial job in German nursing homes and a course of study at German universities of applied sciences .

Studied in Germany

Nursing management is offered as a humanities degree at universities of applied sciences. This is aimed at nurses who have completed three years of vocational training as health and (child) nurses or geriatric nurses. However, not every university of applied sciences requires training in a nursing profession. Applicants without nursing training usually need the school part of the advanced technical college entrance qualification and "practical professional evidence" in the basic course.

The aim of the course is to provide students with in-depth knowledge of the management of care facilities. The knowledge and skills that students acquire through this course enable graduates to assume managerial positions in the healthcare sector.

The areas of application of a nursing management graduate are diverse. Employment as a nursing manager is the most common occupation to be found. Nursing management studies are offered at 21 universities of applied sciences in Germany and are completed with a bachelor's or master's degree.
