Care Wiki
The nursing wiki was an online lexicon , the contents of which could not only be read by visitors, but also edited and changed directly in the web browser, and included lemmas in the field of child , elderly and nursing care and their framework conditions in the health care system . It was structured in the form of a wiki based on the Wikipedia model.
Projects on the web
The Pflege-Wiki (pflegewiki.de) was the first German-language wiki of its kind. It existed from August 15, 2004 to August 15, 2012. It was created by the “Association for the Promotion of Free Information for Care e. V. ”in Marburg. According to the operator, there were an average of 2,600 visitors per day. The English version of “NursingWiki” (http://en.nursingwiki.org) was launched in May 2006 and was deactivated in June 2011 due to lack of use. The operators of the Pflege-Wiki stated in August 2012 that they considered the project to have failed. Until March 2013 the maintenance wiki was only available in read mode and could not be edited. A temporary relaunch took place from March 2013 with the support of a regional group of the DBfK . The maintenance wiki had over 6,500 articles in August 2013. Since May 2018, the main page of the maintenance wiki has been redirected to a page with a maintenance notice.
A still existing parallel project is PflegeABC - The Care Wiki for Nursing Schools , Nursing Students ... (https://pflegeabc.wikia.org/de/wiki/PflegeABC-_Wiki) has existed since November 4, 2012 and offers almost 3,000 articles in November 2019. This wiki is hosted by the commercial provider Wikia.com , which serves advertisements.
