Phantasiehafen is the German title of the Latvian cartoon series Fantadroms ( Russian Фантадром (Fantadrom) ; English Fantadrome ), which was produced between 1985 and 1995 in the Dauka animation studio .

The main character of the series is the robot Indriķis XIII , which is activated by the fusion of a red ball and a black cube. He can change his shape at will, but mostly appears in the form of a yellow cat. When he flies through space, he often does so in the form of a pencil. The other main characters are a purple, apparently female hybrid creature consisting of a cat and an octopus, which can also change its shape, and a rat. Together they travel through space, where they meet the strangest fantasy figures, most of whom they have to help out of a tricky situation. There are also figures such as a mint-green, pig-like being or a pink amorphous body that appear in several episodes.
Recurring elements of the series are the sneezing of Indriķis XIII at the beginning and end of each episode as well as the jealousy of the rat on the two cat creatures, since it is obviously in love with Indriķis XIII and can't stand it when he is ensnared by the "cat octopus" .

| An astronaut discovers on a surveillance monitor that two robots on a distant planet deactivate a radio station. He activated Indriķis XIII. A rat crawls out of its home and immediately falls in love with Indriķis XIII, who is setting off for a strange planet. Once there, he meets the cat octopus. Together they manage to restart the out of control robots with a video of laughing children. Back on earth, the cat-octopus reactivates Indriķis XIII. When the rat sees this, it becomes jealous. | ||||||

| A pink amorphous person wants to have a picnic. When it tries to eat an egg, it notices that it has no salt with it. It then hijacks the astronaut's spaceship. This in turn activates Indriķis XIII to clarify the situation. The rat appears to help, but finally the octopus organizes a salt shaker and the amorphous creature is satisfied. When the rat recognizes a picture of the cat's octopus on the salt shaker, it boils with jealousy. | ||||||

| Two beings are surrounded by fire on a strange planet. The rat joins them and alerts Indriķis XIII. This turns into a fire extinguisher, but cannot extinguish the flames. So he calls the amorph, who soaks up all clouds in order to put out the flames with their water. Indriķis XIII and the cat-octopus come to his aid and together they can put out the fire. They happily fall into the resulting puddle, and the rat watches jealously. | ||||||

| In an artificial biosphere , the astronaut and a colleague discovers a being that is destroying the plants there. They activate Indriķis XIII to clarify the situation. He travels to the planet and tries to stop what turns out to be a red pig. The cat octopus and the amorphous come to his aid. After the amorph has rinsed the creature, its color changes from red to mint green, and it becomes peaceful. The rat joins them and is jealous of everyone again. | ||||||

| On a strange planet, a cow is filling her milk and trying to distribute it to spaceships flying by. Since no one reacts, she sets up a huge landing net in which the amorph is caught. When the cow offers him milk, he reacts indignantly because he feels trapped. He alerts Indriķis XIII, who, however, also gets caught in the net. The octopus clears up the situation and in the end everyone drinks milk together while the rat gets tangled in the net. | ||||||

He rushes to help and succeeds in reactivating the ice machine, ending the storm and producing a large sundae, which he eats together with the octopus and the amorph, while the rat looks on jealously. | ||||||

| The rat and the cat-octopus compete against each other in a unicycle race. The mint green pig is the referee, the amorphous films the action. At a drinks stand on the route where a cow is distributing milk, the two opponents fall, who then get into an argument. Since no one succeeds in mediating, Indriķis XIII is called to help, who can finally appease the quarreling. They finish the race at the same time. | ||||||

| The rat is having a picnic with a baby rat when an elephant steals its bottle. Together with the alarmed Indriķis XIII they try to take the bottle from the elephant again, whereby everyone falls from a cliff. | The pig breeds a head of cabbage, which a worm chooses as its home. It calls Indriķis XIII for help, and while they are hunting the worm, the rat and the cat's octopus prepare a meal from the cabbage. There is no speaking in the series, the characters all communicate using gestures, facial expressions and noises. This meant that no synchronization was necessary and the episodes could also be broadcast outside the Soviet Union or Latvia without further processing.
reception
The episode Sāls won the 1985 Latvian Lielais Kristaps Prize ( German Great Christopherus , an important Latvian film prize) in the “Best Animation” category. The award-winning 1985 episode was shown again at the Lielais Kristaps Film Awards ceremony in 2017, at which director Ansis Bērziņš was honored for his life's work.
