Phantasmagoria

A phantasmagoria (from ancient Greek φάντασμα phántasma "illusion" and ancient Greek ἀγορά agorá "assembly") literally describes the representation of illusions in front of an audience. More generally, it is understood to mean any kind of perception illusion .

In art, it means the representation of optical illusions , for example in fantastic pictures or on the stage.

In psychology and medicine, on the other hand, it denotes a random sequence of associative images, for example in dreams or under a fever .
