Philipp Stursberg

Philipp Stursberg (born October 12, 1979 ) is a former German American football player.

career

Between 1995 and 2014 Stursberg was a player (from 2010 player-coach) of the Lübeck Cougars (from 2002 in the second division). In the 2005 season, Stursberg, who studied computer science, also came to four missions for the Hamburg Sea Devils in the NFL Europe . The 1.88 meter tall defensive player ( defensive end and linebacker ) was European champion with the German national team in 2010 and 2014. During his playing career, Stursberg worked as a youth coach for the Lübeck Cougars from 2002 to 2011. Between 2008 and 2012 he worked as an assistant coach for the Schleswig-Holstein state youth team, where he was responsible for the linebacker position. From 2015, Stursberg coordinated the defense work of the Cougars men's team in the second division as an assistant coach, and in 2020 he became the Lübeck head coach.
