Philippstrasse (Düren)
The Philippstraße in the district town Düren ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ) is an ancient city road .

The road has four lanes and begins at the Platz der Deutschen Einheit (the so-called intersection since November 15, 2011) and at the railway bridge on the Cologne-Aachen railway line . There it merges seamlessly into Veldener Straße .
history
The street takes its name from the largest and strongest city gate , the Philippstor . It stood on today's place of German unity . It was probably named after the lay judge Philip, who was also attested as mayor in the 14th century.
