Philip Oppenheim

Philippus Oppenheim OSB , maiden name Philipp Emil Oppenheim, (born July 1, 1899 in Olpe ; † August 8, 1949 ) was a German Catholic liturgical scholar .

Life

He entered Gerleve Abbey ( profession on March 19, 1921 - ordination August 6, 1924). He studied with Franz Joseph Dölger in Münster and Breslau and received his doctorate in 1928. He taught as professor of liturgical science at the Benedictine College Anselmianum in Rome from March 1929, from 1945 also at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome in 1945, from 1946 also at the University of Propaganda Fide in Rome.
