Philips Hue

Philips Hue is Signify's smart home system , which sells its systems under the brand name Philips. Signify was originally the Philips Lighting division before it was spun off as an independent company. The system allows the lighting of a house to be controlled via a mobile app on a smartphone or tablet computer , but can also be operated using a voice control function.

functionality

The so-called Hue Bridge is the control center with which the smart home lights in a house can be controlled. The bridge must be connected to the router so that the devices can be controlled via the Philips Hue app. A WLAN connection is not required, and a remote connection without active WLAN is also possible, provided a MeetHue account has been set up in the app. The main function of the app is to switch the smart home devices on and off, to dim LED lamps in terms of brightness and to set the color. Using scenes , rooms set by the user can display preset light scenes. The routines have another function . These can e.g. B. can be used to be woken up in the morning by a lamp that slowly becomes brighter at a certain time.

Not only Philips devices can be controlled via the app, but also devices from other manufacturers, such as B. the Telekom Smart Home, Bosch Smart Home, Apple HomeKit or the Trådfri system from Ikea . The radio standard used for this is ZigBee .

color range

In the Hue series, Philips offers various LED lamps with different color spectrums, including LED lamps with the appearance of a light bulb . With the series White , White Ambiance and Color & White Ambiance there are three different series of LED lamps with different color spectra. The White series has a color temperature of 2700K. The White Ambiance offers a changeable color spectrum between 2000K and 6500K. The Color & White Ambiance is the only series with around 16 million colors. It has a changeable color spectrum between 2200K and 6600K. The LED lamps are available in E14 and E27 sockets , all of which are dimmable. Philips also offers built-in spots with a GU10 socket .
