Philips Annual Chronicle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Philips Annual Chronicle , earlier ... that was ... or the Philips Annual Record was an annual review of the past year published annually from 1960 to 2005 in the form of a media combination of book and sound carrier.

The publication of the annual chronicle began with a review of 1960 as a richly illustrated large-format, narrow book. This has already been supplemented here, as in all subsequent editions, by a spoken review with interwoven sound documents on an enclosed long-playing record. Later they switched to the gatefold cover, in which the record was now supplemented with an attached text, table and picture section. From 1992 onwards, the record we discussed was replaced by an enclosed CD.

The speakers for the texts were initially Christl Pfeil , Heinz Ladiges , Gerhard Herm and Erro Wacker , with Herm also taking care of the editorial team until the 1970s. In the further course of the publications, the daily foam moderators Dagmar Berghoff , Georg Hopf , Wilhelm Wieben and Werner Veigel were among the regular speakers. The sound documentation came from Heinrich Heise , the text and table part was compiled by Alfred Lambeck , then head of the central information department at Philips.

The editions were initially not available in stores and were only given to selected people by Deutsche Philips GmbH. Copies were later sent to schools across the board and supplemented with transparencies for overhead projection.

In 2005, the Philips annual chronicle was included in the publication of the Fischer World Almanac .
