Philly Fed Index

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Philly Fed Index is one of the most important leading economic indicators for economic development in the United States and is published by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

backgrounds

The Philly Fed Index was first published in May 1968. It is calculated using the results of surveys among companies on the development of incoming orders, sales figures, inventories, prices, employee numbers and financial liabilities. While a negative index value indicates a future economic downturn, positive index values represent assumed positive economic developments.
