Speinshart 24-hour moped races
The Speinshart 24-hour moped race was one of the first moped races in Germany. It was organized from 1997 to 2010 in Barbaraberg near Speinshart by the Weekend Warriors motorcycle club.
history
In 1997 this race took place for the first time. Gradually it found many imitators. At the beginning it was a pure fun event with only eleven teams. The race was contested by more teams (at the end up to a hundred) with three drivers each from southern Germany and Austria. As a result, more extensive organization was necessary and a corresponding supporting program was offered.
procedure
Hazards was with mopeds have had older vehicles as Year 1990th The machines were individually modified by each team and trimmed for off-road mobility. The engine displacement (maximum 50 cm³), the maximum speed (50 km / h) and the maximum noise level (105 dB) were strictly regulated .
The circuit ran on natural ground and was around 1 km long. Chicanes, mud holes and jumping hills made the journey difficult. After 24 hours of driving time spread over two days, the winner was certain. The team that completed the most laps won. It was only driven during the day.
