Philocles. Journal for popular philosophy is a German-language journal for popular philosophy .
profile
The magazine Philokles wants to make interdisciplinary discussions on philosophical questions accessible to a broad, also non-scientific readership. It places itself in the tradition of popular philosophy of the 18th century and claims to be "open, undogmatic and not obliged to any school or doctrinal opinion".
The magazine appears annually in loose succession; the last editions were made in 2015, 2017 and 2019. In addition to articles, interviews and discussions, the individual issues also contain reviews and excerpts from a thematic focus.
The journal Philokles is published by the Ethos association based at the University of Leipzig - Association for Ethics and Philosophy . Christiane Turza, Johann Gudmundsson, Falk Hamann, Peter Heuer, Christian Kietzmann and Peter Wiersbinski work in the editorial office.
The booklets can be ordered as printed copies for a nominal fee, but are also available for download.
Supplements have been published since 2001.
