Phoenix in Knoebel's Amusement Park & Resort ( Elysburg , Pennsylvania , USA ) is a wooden roller coaster manufactured by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters with the serial number 111, which opened on June 15, 1985. It originally opened as a Rocket in Playland Park ( San Antonio , Texas ) in 1948 and closed in that park in 1980. The train was then brought from Knoebels to Elysburg (Pennsylvania) between January and June 1985 and then rebuilt with the help of Charlie Dinn . In the absence of the original plans, each bar was numbered and 34 trucks were used for the relocation. The dislocation and the rebuilding cost 1.5 million US dollars .
The Phoenix route simulates a double out and back layout.
Trains
Phoenix has two trains with four cars each. Six people (three rows of two people) can be seated in each car.
