organization

In the former Photomed Association - now: Bundesfachverband Besonnung (BfB) - around 400 studio operators with 1,200 tanning salons (out of a total of 4,600 tanning salons in Germany), tanning shops and service providers are organized. At the beginning of 2011, manufacturers, dealers and service providers in the industry also belong to the association.

history

The association was founded on November 30, 1984 as Photomed - Association for Photomedicine and Tanning . In March 2006, the general meeting decided to change its name to Photomed, the Federal Association for Solariums and Tanning

The name change was intended to take account of the change from an interest group promoting artificial tanning to a professional organization for operators of tanning studios, including tanning salons and services. Photomed generally conducts educational work on the subject of artificial tanning. In November 2010 the Photomed Association merged with the Federal Association of Sunlight Systems . V. (SLS) to the Bundesfachverband Besonnung eV (BfB).
