Phrase mower (cabaret)

The phrase mower cabaret was founded in 1979 as a student cabaret by Frank Lüdecke at the Waldoberschule in Berlin-Charlottenburg. In 1981 it was converted into a student cabaret with changing line-ups at the Free University of Berlin , which became known throughout West Berlin - partly also in Spandau. In the early phase of the ensemble, in addition to the founder Frank Lüdecke, Gabi Schmalz, Karin Liersch, Nicole Behmeleit, Alexandra Preis, Vivek Lugani, Jörg Gräpel, Achim Ballert , Martin Reis, Jürgen Hubert (technology and guest appearances), Dragan Čevapčič, Kutte Krösel as well Dirk Lemmermann and Martin Hauser (music).

In 1991 the group went on tour through Germany for the first time with the line-up of Achim Ballert, Karin Liersch and Frank Lüdecke, music: Dirk Lemmermann / Klaus Gertken. Her first touring program was called In the Name of Neurosis . This was followed by gentle excesses (1991), (awarded the St. Ingbert pan ).

The last program of the phrase mower was Pictures of a Shot (1993), played by Frank Lüdecke and Achim Ballert. The program was awarded the Minden stickleback , the German Cabaret Award and the AZ star of the year. In May 1995, the phrase mowers disbanded. Lüdecke went to the Düsseldorfer Kommödchen for one season and has since been a solo cabaret artist and since 2019 director of the Berlin cabaret Porcupines .
