Phyllis ( Greek Φυλλίς phullís , leaf, foliage, petal ') is a figure in Greek mythology .

This story is the subject of the second letter from Ovid's Heroides .
In pastoral poems, Phyllis was often used as a name for lovesick shepherdesses.
