Phyllobius virideaeris is a beetle from the family of weevils and the subfamily Entiminae .

features

The beetles are 3–4.5 mm long. They are covered with metallic green shimmering scales. The beetles are also scaled on the underside of the abdomen. The femora are without thorns.

distribution

The species occurs in the western Palearctic . The distribution area extends from North Africa across Europe (including the British Isles) to Siberia.

Way of life

The beetles fly from May to the end of July / August. They are often found on poplars and willows, but also on various shrubs. The larvae feed on the roots of various shrubs.
