Pico Dragon was a Vietnamese technology testing and amateur radio satellite .

Structure and payload

Pico Dragon was a 1U size Cubesat . The main payload consisted of a camera. The satellite permanently sent a beacon / telemetry signal on the amateur radio frequencies 437.250 MHz in Morse code and 437.365 MHz in AX.25 .

Mission history

Pico Dragon was launched on August 3, 2013 19:48 UTC from Tanegashima Space Center on board the Japanese space freighter HTV-4 together with the small satellites TechEdSat 3 , ArduSat X and ArduSat 1 with an H-IIB to the space station ISS . On November 19, 2013, the CubeSat was launched into space from board the ISS using a launch device and operated by the Vietnam National Satellite Center .

On February 28, 2014, the satellite burned up in the earth's atmosphere.
