Pictet is an impact crater south of the lunar front , south of Mare Nubium , east of Tycho crater and west of Saussure . The crater is badly eroded and covered by the Tycho ejecta .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Swiss scientist Marc-Auguste Pictet .
