Pier F. Talenti

Pier F. Talenti (* 1925 in Rome ) is an American philanthropist and agricultural engineer with an Italian migration background .

Life

Pier F. Talenti graduated from the Institut Technique Supérieur SA in 1947, in Freiburg im Üechtland and in 1953 from the University of California, Davis . From 1956 he was employed by the First Western Bank and Trust Company , San Francisco .

In the presidential election in the United States in 1968 , he got involved with party funding in Italy for Richard Nixon and acted as his press attaché.

Talenti turned to Alexander Haig for Graham Martin as ambassador in Rome.

Talenti has been accused by the Italian public prosecutor of being involved in the funding of the Golpe Borghese . He was subsequently naturalized in the United States. The Italian government expropriated part of his property with compensation.

On February 2, 1948, the US and Italian governments signed the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation between the United States and Italy ("FCN Treaty"); this specifies compensation for expropriations as "just and effective". According to Pier F. Talenti, his compensation was not "just and effective" and he sued the Clinton Cabinet for applying the Hickenlooper Amendment .

In the 1994 election to the United States House of Representatives , Talenti donated to the Republican Party .
