Piero Fusaro

Piero Fusaro (* 1952 ) is a former president of the Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari .

Fusaro already held a leading position at Ferrari in the 1970s. From September 1975 to September 1979 he was managing director and in December 1988 took over the office of Ferrari President from Vittorio Ghidella . Fusaro was also responsible for Ferrari's racing team, the Scuderia . Enzo Ferrari died in August 1988 and Fusaro's time as president was marked by upheavals, arguments and intrigues. When, in addition to the lack of sporting successes, the sales figures for road cars also collapsed, Fusaro was replaced. Luca Cordero di Montezemolo was appointed as his successor and Fusaro was transferred to the management of the parent company Fiat .
