Pierre Cao

Pierre Cao (born December 22, 1937 in Dudelange ) is a Luxembourg musician, conductor and composer .

Live and act

Pierre Cao studied composition and orchestral conducting at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels . The focus of his work is the training of future conductors. In 1968 Cao was a prizewinner of the “Conducting Competition Nicolai Malko ” in Copenhagen.

Until 1998 he was a lecturer in choral conducting at the Luxembourg Conservatory of Music and has also given numerous master classes for advanced students in Europe. He led various vocal ensembles in Luxembourg and the surrounding area and is a co-founder of the INECC (Institut Européen du Chant Choral).

He has made an international name for himself through recordings and the direction of numerous choirs, ensembles and orchestras. Since 2006 Pierre Cao has been the artistic director of the "Arsys Choir" and the "Rencontres Musicales de Vézelay " in France.
