Pierre Germain (singer)
Pierre Germain ( March 25, 1923 in Bordeaux - September 16, 1963 between Dijon and Paris ) was a French opera singer (baritone).
Life
After his training at the Paris Conservatoire , he debuted in 1951 at the Opéra-Comique in Paris in Madame Bovary of Emmanuel Bondeville .
In the same year he was engaged at the Paris Grand Opéra, where his first role was "Papageno" in the Magic Flute . There he could also be heard and seen as “Morales” in Carmen and as “Sacristan” in Puccini's Tosca .
In 1952 he took part in the world premiere of the opera Dolorès by Michel-Maurice Levy at the Opéra-Comique .
On September 16, 1963, his career ended prematurely when he died in a car accident between Dijon and Paris .
