Pierre Trân Thanh Chung

Pierre Trân Thanh Chung (born November 10, 1927 in Ðà Nang ) is a Vietnamese clergyman and Roman Catholic former bishop of Kontum .

Life

Pierre Trân Thanh Chung was ordained a priest on May 25, 1955 . Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Kon Tum on March 26, 1981 . The Bishop of Kontum, Alexis Pham Van Lôc , ordained him episcopal on November 22nd of the same year .

After retirement Alexis Pham Van LOCs he followed him on April 8, 1995 as Bishop of Kontum after. On July 16, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.

His name combines western name tradition ( Pierre as a first name before the family name Trân ) with a Vietnamese ( Thanh Chung as a personal name is behind the family name).
