Pila Island

Pila Island is an island in Holme Bay on the Mawson Coast of Mac Robertson Land, East Antarctica . It is located 2.5 km west of the Flat Islands .

Norwegian cartographers, who called them Pila (Norwegian for arrow ), mapped them using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia transferred this name into English in 1958 with a toponym .
