Pilchowo (German Polchow ) is a district of the city of Stettin ( Szczecin ) in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship with 986 inhabitants.

Geographical location

Pilchowo is located on the left bank of the Oder, northwest of the city center and the old town of Szczecin .

history

Until 1939 Polchow was an independent rural community in the Randow district in the administrative district of Stettin in the Pomeranian province . Around 1932 the parish of Polchow measured 11.4 km², and there were three places of residence Bam , Polchow and Sauersackmühle with a total of 54 houses and (1925) 421 inhabitants, of which 416 were Protestants and two were Catholics. On October 15, 1939, Polchow was incorporated into the city of Stettin under the Greater Stettin Act . The district borders in the north on the place of the same name Pilchowo , the part that has not been incorporated.

After the Second World War , the village was renamed together with Szczecin part of Poland and Pilchowo .
