Pilkington Ssengendo

Pilkington Ssengendo (* 1942 in Kampala , Uganda ) is a Ugandan painter.

The Muganda Ssengendo made a university degree as a teacher 1966th Since 1992 he has been Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Makerere University in Kampala. His early work consisted mainly of impressionistic landscapes from his Bugandan homeland, with which he participated in several international exhibitions. Many of his later works were influenced by the traditional material culture of buga Indian textiles and handicrafts, in which bark cloth was an important part, which is also in the picture Landscape in Peace ( Landscape in peace ) was used.
