The Pillar Point (from English pillar , pillar, pillar ' ) is a headland in the southwest of Clarence Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is an extension of the Pillar Ridge 2 km north of Craggy Point and forms the western branch of the island.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 2018 based on the descriptive naming of the neighboring mountain ridge of the same name , which it received from scientists from the British Joint Services Expedition to the Elephant Island Group (JSEEIG, 1976–1977).
