description

Pilosocereus bohlei grows shrubby, branches only at the base and reaches heights of up to 1.8 meters. The upright to arching ascending, light bluish to blue-greenish shoots have a diameter of up to 12 centimeters and are club-shaped thickened at their base. There are 9 to 12 ribs. The oval areoles on it are slightly raised. Some hair up to 3 centimeters long emerges from them. The stinging thorns are initially red to light brown and later turn yellowish or grayish to black. There is usually a single central spine of up to 2.5 centimeters in length, which can hardly be distinguished from the radial spines. The 30 to 40 radiating radial spines are up to 20 millimeters long. A part of the shoots capable of blooming is clearly pronounced. It includes up to 7 ribs over a length of up to 40 centimeters. White hairs up to 7 centimeters long arise from the flowering areoles.

The slightly bent, funnel-shaped, white flowers are light green on the outside. They are up to 5.5 centimeters long and have a diameter of up to 3.5 centimeters.
