The Pinnower Lake is a 54 ha large pond on the territory of the municipality Schenkendöbern in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg . The lake is located in the Schlaubetal Nature Park , south of Pinnow , a district of the municipality of Schenkendöbern. The B 320 runs not far north.
Since May 1st 1968 the lake has the status of a landscape protection area .
The water level of the Pinnower See sinks significantly. Already in 2017 there were fears that the lake would be divided into three, the water height of which had already dropped by 1.5 meters. In 2018, the Brandenburg Ministry of the Environment decided to supply the lake with additional water from 2019. For this purpose, the LEAG , the operator of the region's opencast mines, is to take groundwater from 60 to 100 meter deep wells and channel it into the lakes.
