Pirate game

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The pirate game , "pirate catching " or pirate for short, is a type of catching that is mostly played in physical education in schools and therefore in large halls. Similar games with almost the same rules are under the names Haifischinsel , Affeninsel , Parkwächter u. a. known.

rule

The rules are very similar to those of catching and vary depending on the training location of the teacher or the game master. There are mostly several hunters, here now pirates , who are marked with a ribbon. Most of the time the loop is passed on to the other players after catching them by simply touching them, so that they now become pirates. But there are also variants where the game is ended after the pirates have captured all other players.

The main difference to catching is that it is not just played on an open area (meadow, school yard, etc.), but a kind of course is set up on which one can move. You shouldn't touch the hall floor. In gyms , all kinds of gymnastics equipment, such as mats, ropes, beams, or springboards, are used to build an interesting "landscape" on which one can move around in various ways, be it by jumping, running, climbing, swinging or crawling. The combination of difficult obstacles to overcome and being followed poses some challenges to the skill of the participants. Smaller accidents should be taken into account.
