The Pirkachkapelle zur Sankt Anna is a chapel in the municipality of Gaal bei Knittelfeld , Styria , Austria . It is a listed building .

history

According to the traditional inscription above the entrance door, the Pirkach Chapel dates from 1761. However, the builder and construction dates are not known. The chapel is consecrated to the holy mother Anna and it was mainly used as a destination for the liturgical processions and until 1985 also temporarily as a funeral chapel. A traditional legend from the Middle Ages, according to was in this chapel that confession removed before the condemned to lock seamount were executed.

The Pirkach Chapel was renovated in 2013. In the chapel there is the exhibition “Signs of Faith and Crosses in the Gaal”.
