The Piso Ni Datu is a knife from Sumatra .
description
The Piso ni Datu has a straight, narrow or bulbous, pointed blade. The blade is available in different versions:
- The blade widens from the handle to the location . The back of the blade is straight, the cutting edge is s-shaped. The blade is slightly bulbous in the local area. The place is pointed.
- The blade widens from the handle to the location shortly after the tang and then tapers to the location in a wedge shape.
- The blade widens from the handle to the location just behind the tang, and then curves towards the location.
The handle is made of wood or horn and has no guard . A metal clamp is attached between the handle and the blade , which is used to better secure the blade and the handle. The handle is usually carved with artistic, figurative representations and is slightly bent towards the back of the blade. The scabbards are usually made of wood. They are slightly bent at the local area. The vaginal mouth is decorated with a horse or mythological animal figure. If you carry the Piso Ni Datu in the scabbard, the figure on the hilt of the weapon gives the impression of sitting on the carved animal on the scabbard mouth. The Piso Ni Datu is used by ethnic groups in Sumatra.
