Lake Pitelis ( Latvian Peiteļa ezers or Pītelis ; Russian Питель Pitel ) is a lake in Eastern Europe , which lies in Latvia and Russia ( Pskov Oblast ).
By the lake the Rūbeža, a tributary flowing Zilupe . The state border and thus the EU's eastern border runs roughly in the middle of the lake. The environment is swampy.
