Pixum is an internationally active German online photo service for individual photo products such as photo books, greeting cards and photo posters. Pixum was founded in April 2000 and is the oldest e-commerce company in the online photo industry founded in Germany . It survived the collapse of many online companies from the Web 1.0 era, the so-called dotcom bubble . The company's headquarters are in Cologne-Rodenkirchen. The company has been trading under the name Diginet since 2008. The legal form was transferred from the AG to a GmbH & Co. KG and Pixum now exists as a brand of Diginet GmbH & Co. KG.
So far, the company has taken on various online photo services: eBaraza (2000), Colorwonder (2001), PhotoReflex (2010), ColorMailer (2011), FastLab (2011) and NetFoto (2011).
history
Pixum was founded in April 2000 by Daniel Attallah, Christian Marsch and Michael Ziegert as Pixum AG in Lohmar near Cologne. At “ photokina 2000”, the company presented itself for the first time as an Internet service provider for the exposure of digital image data on photo paper. The service provider thus played a part in popularizing the trend for online orders for photo prints and other photo products in Germany.

Pixum supports the Cologne Museum Ludwig in digitizing its extensive photo collection. The photo service provider is involved in sport as a sponsor and supports the German Handball Federation (DHB), the Handball Bundesliga (HBL), the RheinStars Cologne basketball team , the SC Fortuna Cologne soccer club and the Adrenalin Motorsport team.
Awards
In 2007 Pixum received the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Germany Award and the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA Award / Stellar Performers ( 419th place) as one of the fastest growing technology companies in Europe.
