Plan 9

Plan 9 is an American band from Rhode Island who named themselves after the B-movie Plan 9 from Outer Space .

Plan 9 was founded in 1979 by Eric Stumpo and Debora Demarco. Her most outstanding albums were made early in her career with Frustration (LP, 1982), Plan 9 (LP, 1983) and Dealing with the Dead (LP, 1984).

The early songs of the band, which sometimes has up to eight members, are heavily guitar-heavy with four guitarists and their sound is in the tradition of the beat , garage rock and psychedelia of the 60s .

First recordings appeared on Midnight Records .

The band quickly gained a reputation as a good live band, dominated by Eric Stumpos' vocals and the catchy organ sound of Deb Demarco.

Due to their active touring activity, the group landed a recording contract with Enigma Records , led by William and Wes Hein. In addition to Plasticland , they came to Pink Dust - a sub-label of Enigma. When Enigma made a distribution deal with Capitol Records , they were eventually signed entirely by Capitol Records.

The band made little talk in the 90s , but continues to release records on their own label that are heavily progressive rock- heavy.
