history
Planet Mu was founded in 1995 by Paradinas as a sub-label of Virgin Records . In the first few years only publications by the label founder appeared under his pseudonym µ-Ziq. Dissatisfied with the marketing by Virgin, Paradinas converted the label into an independent label in 1998, with whose distribution he was in charge of SRD. This enabled Paradinas to offer other artists such as Jega , Capitol K , Hellfish and Luke Vibert a platform for their publications.
From the mid-2000s, Paradinas increasingly turned to new varieties of electronic music such as dubstep and grime and published, among other things, the Vex'd album Degenerate and Work Related Illness by Virus Syndicate .
