Kettel (musician)

Kettel (* 1982 as Reimer H. Eising ) is a Dutch DJ and producer of electronic dance music.

Career

Kettel got access to music at the age of five through piano lessons. As a teenager, he was influenced by the electronic music of Autechre and Mouse on Mars . He has been publishing his own music since 2001 and is also an international DJ. As a remixer he was u. a. works for Depeche Mode and Dash Berlin . He also creates soundtracks for TV commercials, etc. a. for Audi, Shiseido and Sharp.

In 2013 the puzzle platformer Ibb and Obb was released for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3 , for which Kettel had created the soundtrack.

In cooperation with Christopher Graves, Joseph Miragliuolo and Noah Sasso, the album Original Instrument of the project of the same name was created in 2002 . Together with Don & Roel Funcken alias Funckarma , he released two albums and a 4-track EP under the project name Scone .

Reimer Eising lives in Groningen and worked for the label Sending Orbs, which was co-founded by his brother Wouter Eising, until it was dissolved.

style

The music produced by Kettel is playful, complex and often poppy-melodic and belongs to the IDM genre. Eising himself once used the term electronic pop music . Style-forming features are borrowings from the ambient genre as well as the occasional use of animal and nature sounds and acoustic instruments.
