Planetarium Society Ostwestfalen-Lippe
The Planetarium Society Ostwestfalen-Lippe eV is a recognized non-profit association based in Paderborn , whose goal is to build a planetarium in Ostwestfalen-Lippe .
The association was founded in spring 2002. The initiative came from Reinhard Wiechoczek, the founder and long-time chairman of the Volkssternwarte Paderborn eV The society counts experts from various fields as its members as well as interested laypeople. The project is primarily intended to provide general science education for broad sections of the population. In addition, it is generally intended - also in cooperation with other cultural institutions - as an international cultural center.
In May 2006 the Planetarium Society OWL opened the Planet Trail in cooperation with the City of Bad Lippspringe , on which guided tours are also offered.
