The Playa Antártico is a small beach in the north of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the north side of Cape Shirreff , it is immediately east of Playa Pocitos .
Scientists of the 46th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1991–1992) named it after the chinstrap penguin ( Spanish pingüino antártico ) that broods here .
