history

Playdead was founded in 2006 by Arnt Jensen and Dino Christian Patti as underholdningsbranchen ApS in Denmark. Together with 16 freelance employees, the two founders began developing the game Limbo and renamed themselves Limbo ApS in 2008. After the release of Limbo , which was accompanied by many awards for the game, work on the game Inside began . In 2012 the company got its current name Playdead. In 2016, Inside was finally published and founder Patti sold his shares in the company to Jensen. Playdead's third video game was announced by Jensen in 2017 with the words “fairly lonely sci-fi game somewhere in the universe”.
