Playrix is an international developer of free mobile games based in Dublin , Ireland . The company has offices in Moscow , St. Petersburg , Dublin, Almaty , Yerevan , Kiev, Vologda , Voronezh , Ivanovo , Kaliningrad , Petrozavodsk , Kharkiv , Novosibirsk , Chelyabinsk , Veliky Novgorod and Rostov-on-Don . Playrix employs more than 1,000 people who work in the office or from home.
Company history
The company was founded by Dmitry and Igor Bukhman in 2004 in Vologda , Russia . Playrix originally specialized in the development of casual games. In 2013, Playrix Township dropped its first free mobile game in the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It was later sold on Google Play , the Amazon Appstore , the Mac App Store, and the Windows Phone Store . The game is a combination of city building and agriculture.
In April 2015, the company announced the launch of its second free mobile project, Fishdom: Deep Dive , a match- 3 puzzle game, which was released on the App Store worldwide in August 2015.
In August 2016, Playrix released another match 3 puzzle game: Gardenscapes . In September 2016, the company became the top-selling mobile game developer in the CIS and the Baltic States, according to App Annie. In the second quarter of 2016, Playrix rose to the top 20 largest mobile game developers worldwide. In the summer of 2017, Playrix released Homescapes , a spin-off from Gardenscapes , which is also a match 3 puzzle game. In August 2017, based on revenue from Google Play and the App Store, the company became the leading publisher of mobile games in Europe. In 2018, Playrix became the world's ninth largest game maker by revenue on iOS and Android. The free-to-play games Gardenscapes and Homescapes had combined sales of US $ 1.3 billion in in-app sales by autumn 2018. In April 2019, Igor and Dmitry Bukhman, the two owners of Playrix, made it to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index. Their net worth was $ 1.4 billion each. Wildscapes was released in April 2019.
