Clarence Swearengen

Clarence Swearengen is a retired American basketball player .

Life

The 1.90 meter tall, from Memphis originating structure player belonged from 1985 to 1987 on the college team of the Connors State College and from 1987 to 1989 the University of Tennessee . At Tennessee he was a good passer (4.5 basket assists per game). In addition, he scored 9.9 points per encounter.

From 1988 he played as a professional at BSC Fürstenfeld in the Austrian Bundesliga, after which he formed  a strong US team with Daryl Battles at Swans Gmunden . In the 1992/93 season he was under contract with the German Bundesliga club TTL Bamberg and scored 18.4 points per game as the second best scorer of the Franks. With Bamberg he also appeared in the European Cup.

After retiring as a professional basketball player, he returned to the University of Tennessee, where he graduated in 1998 with a degree in sports management. He took on administrative duties on the basketball staff of the University of Memphis , and at Melrose High School in Memphis he was a teacher, basketball coach and school sports director from 2001 to 2003. In 2003 he became an administrative assistant on the University of Tennessee basketball team. He stayed in office for two years and then took up a position as a teacher.
