Plesk is a web server distribution with a configuration tool for web hosting , which is developed by the manufacturer Plesk International GmbH (formerly Parallels Inc.) for both Unix and Windows . In March 2015, Parallels renamed the service provider business to Odin.

This product, which is available for a fee for web hosts, is used by various Internet service providers . Users can use it to manage servers without having to have in-depth knowledge of the operating system . It simplifies complex operations such as setting up a mail and web server for a domain. Since version 9 it is possible to choose between Postfix and qmail for updates and installations

In 2015 there was a company restructuring. As a result, the previous brand name Plesk was replaced by Odin . When the sale of the service provider division Odin from the American software manufacturer Ingram became apparent, Plesk was spun off and managed again as an independent company as a subsidiary of Parallels Holding Inc.

The British Oakley Capital Limited bought Plesk Inc. from Parallels Inc. in 2017 and is now a subsidiary of WebPros HoldCo BV as Plesk International GmbH with headquarters in Schaffhausen, which is still owned by Oakley Capital Limited.
