Plextor KK ( Japanese プ レ ク ス タ ー 株式会社 , Purekusutā kabushiki-gaisha ) is a subsidiary of the Japanese group Shinano Kenshi based in Taitō .

The Plextor brand has belonged to the Taiwanese IT group " Lite-On " since 2010 , while the Japanese company Plextor KK continues to exist and creates new products under other brand names such as Plexlogger and Plextalk. Therefore, today's Plextor SSD products are from a Taiwanese, not a Japanese brand.

The company manufactured CD / DVD recorders , burners and drives, blank CD / DVD discs (only sales, production of Taiyo Yuden ), USB flash drives, digital video converters and SSDs. The company was founded as Texel KK ( テ ク セ ル 株式会社 ) in 1985, renamed Plextor in 1994 , and has offices in Belgium and the USA .

Together with Shinano Kenshi, Plextor KK sells audio hardware and software for the blind under the brand name .
