Plogøy (loosely translated from Norwegian plow -Insel ) is a 1.5 km long island in front of the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . In the Vestfold Mountains in Prydz Bay it is 800 m north of Lake Island and just as far west of the Breidnes Peninsula .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named them descriptively after their shape, mapped them using aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 .
