Plopp (media award)
The Plopp ( spelling : PLOPP! ) Was a radio play and feature competition that was organized annually from 2000 to 2008 by the Berlin Academy of the Arts . It was aimed at the "scene of independent radio playmakers". The associated prize (also known as the Plopp Award ) was awarded as part of an open competition for author productions. Since 2005 there has been a second award, the Plopp-Doku , which was specifically intended for the radio feature genre.
The name of the competition was “based on the noise” “that occurs when a microphone is improperly discussed”, wrote Hermann Bohlen . Others consider it to be short for "Public Listening Of Private Productions". The spelling of the name varies from "Plopp" to "PLOPP *! - Award".
