Plunket Shield 2002/03
The Plunket Shield 2002/03 , also known as the State Championship 2002/03 for sponsorship reasons , was the 74th season of the national first-class cricket competition in New Zealand and was held from November 23, 2002 to March 20, 2003. The winners were the Auckland Aces .
format
The teams played two games in each division against each other. If a team wins, they get 6 points. If a team leads after the first innings and the game ends in a draw or the game is lost, 2 points are awarded. If the game is canceled, 3 points are awarded, the game starts and there is no decision after the 1st innings both teams get 1 point. It is also possible that teams are deducted points if, for example, they play too slowly or the pitch is not properly prepared. At the end of the season, the first in the table is the winner of the Plunket Shield.
