Plutzer (vessel)
A Plutzer is a large, spherical clay jug with a narrow, short-necked pouring opening that is surrounded by the handle. Locally, similarly shaped glass balloons for storing brandy are also given this name.
Since ancient times, blood has been used to cool the cutting drink. Heat is withdrawn from the drink through partial evaporation of the contents through the unglazed clay wall.
